damon, the ass

johnny damon, stfu. i was upset when you went to the yankees. i didnt mind so much that the sox didnt retain you, but now that you've chosen the douche bag way of life, and acting like "it just feels right," it's over. JUST ADMIT IT. you wish you stayed. you know you're a sellout. you know you're a bitch. JUST ADMIT IT. it'll be easier for all of us.

the sports scene has been slow recently, hence the lack of any posts.

let's just say that i dont give two shits about the superbowl. on all fronts. the matchup isnt particularly interesting. i hate the steelers. i hope they lose bad. cant stand porter. cant stand bettis. the glorified 3rd string running back. wow, he came from detroit? no shit? wow, he's never won anything in his life? so you're telling me he's from detroit and has never won anything? join the masses. let's give him a key to the city of detroit, a special honor of whom the likes of guys like SADDAM HOUSSEIN also share. that's outstanding. like i told ep, if someone offered me a key to detroit, i'd be insulted. count me out.

is motown the only positive synonym they have for detroit? lets just call it unionville. we-cant-get-our-shit-together-ville. i-get-paid-70-bucks-an-hour-to-screw-this-bolt-and-its-not-enough-so-i-bitch-more-ville.

needless to say, i think things are lined up for some bad things to happen at the superbowl. i smell a driveby. i hope it doesnt happen. we'll see. dont worry, kwame kilpatrick's got something up his sleeve. he'll find another way to shame detroit.

about the state of the red sox: largely positive. the team's largest holes have miraculously been filled again in time for spring training. the bullpen has been bolstered slightly, but as always, we say that and find out to our collective dismay that no one has it together except for timlin. lets hope seanez can do something. lets hope tavarez wont kill someone. lets hope foulke realizes he's not starting anytime soon.

coco: i think cereal boy will be decent, but not what any of us are hoping he will be. that's ok though. i think his second half is going to be great. he tore it up relatively speaking the second half last year. gonzalez will be slightly better than renteria. i'm not exactly excited that he's had 16 errors each of hte last two seasons, but whatever, it's not THAT BAD. that's still 50% less than rentawreck's errors.

there are a lot of question marks. i'd like to say that our bullpen is fixed, but we're not retards here. i think the rotation has the potential to sport two 20 game winners, assuming schilling is back to form. he's in shape for the first time in a year in a half. so that's good news. but schill's still a question mark. beckett has great upside, but if he's not healthy, who cares? if he stays healthy, he's gonna be nasty. i'd like to see wakefield go to 3, papelbon go to 4, and arroyo/clement go to 5. or wells for that matter. it doesnt really matter. the sox obviously wont go to a 6 man rotation, but it wouldnt be a bad idea if they did in my opinion. fortunately, we can ensure that someone will get hurt, so all's well. we must keep clement though. he is an ACE in the 4 or 5 spot. he would eat teams alive with virtually pressure that a 2 gets. or a 1. can you believe he was our 1 for a bit last year? unbelievable. if he can pitch the way he did in the first half and spread it over the entire year, i'm fine with that. we dont need him to be a horse, we jus tneed him not to break down mentally every start. i smell a potential arroyo trade sometime if there are problems with the team. i dont think i like that, cause he's versatile and cheap, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

overall, our team is going to score far less runs, but allow less hopefully with the strong infield presence all around. lowell should be solid defensively. as for his offensive prowess, it shouldnt be too hard to match mueller's production, but let's not forget that mueller was leading the team and possibly the league at one point in BA with RISP. mid .400s if i remember correctly. i dont have exactly great confidence that lowell can reproduce that, but if he returns to a shadow of what he used to be (which isnt asking for much at all... a SHADOW), he'll be serviceable. i think lowell has upside, in that respect, because he may be nasty in fenway when all's said and done. maybe he'll get it together, figure out his swing, and go 20-90. that would be nasty. i dont know enough about loretta so i need to do some homework on him, but he should be decent. his OBP, SLG numbers are good from what I've heard, so it's no doubt that he'll be a massive upgrade from rentawreck in the 2 spot.

one thing i have to gripe about though is pedroia's spot on this team. as the #3 SS, i have no idea what he's gonna be doing. incidentally, he's also the #3 2B. not good. unfortunately, i smell a grafanino trade midseason assuming loretta's nasty. if loretta cant get it together, i hope that tito will put in graf so we dont have gaping holes in our lineup. again, where the hell is pedroia gonna play? we gonna let him just rot again in AAA? he needs playing time. he needs to get acclimated.

lastly, i want to see lester make some spot starts, ala papelbon 04-05. lets see what this guy has. it's a shame we dealt marte, because i really wanted to see how good he was. his numbers are decent, and as the #1 prospect in MLB, that's pretty sweet when you can have a prospect like that. AT THE LATEST, coco better be nasty by next year. LATEST.

i'm a little annoyed that i missed the state of the union address last night. fromi what i've been hearing, it was quite good. i wont go into that though on this page.

i'm thrilled that the yankees have done NOTHING with their rotation. i smell nothing but busts. chacon better not be as good as he was last year, small is no threat, RJ might be a threat but i doubt it, mussina ditto, and i really dont care about the rest of that awful team. of that awful city. screw you ny. eat a dick.
