this team doesnt have it, but it will still win in 5.
pky
hey guys, way to give jenks all the confidence he needs.
official statement: i've missed most of the past two games. i'm glad i didnt watch a minute of game 1- from what i've heard, berman and piazza alone wasnt worth the price of admission, not to say anything of the final score...
as for last night, i was sick, so i slept thru most of it. it's kinda nice, you feel like crap, you fall asleep at 4-0, you wake up to 5-4, you feel a little better, and then you see the score. it's great. then you watch this jenks character come in, and see him nowhere near the plate, and you see the sox give him nothing at all.
about graf: yes, he had a terrible error. but if the team that led the majors in run production cant make up a one run deficit, what the hell else cant they do? graf redeemed himself in the top of the 9th, with a timely double. and then damon swings on three inside pitches, and E6 the stalwart he is, swings at the first pitch, accidentally hits it, and ends the game.
my original unpublished prediction was the sox in 4, but now i have to modify that to sox in 5.
meanwhile, the bruins lose with 10 seconds left in the 3rd on a powerplay. to the freaking canadiens. could it have gone worse last night? yeah. i could have watched that game too. fortunately i didnt. i'm glad hockey is back though, the bruins should be decent this year. it'll be AWESOME having another option than basketball this winter. i dreaded the nfl ending last year cause all we had was the nba.
lastly about the sox.
-What can I say about that team that hasn't already been said about Afghanistan; It looks bombed out and depleted.
-they dont have it this year. it = pitching, timely hitting, whatever you want to call it. the starting pitching is mediocre to decent at best. i had confidence in wells last night. he did quite well actually. graf never makes errors, so I can give him that allowance. and the team didnt pick him and make that run back. instead, they make jenks look like mo rivera. you explain it. the only good thing that i have seen from the red sox this year has been the emergence of jonathan papelbon as a pure force. so coupled with the fact that the angels beat the yankees last night, i can live with this.
