Ty Law back to the Pats? (ep)

Law briefing
Ty Law may have five interceptions (three more than any player on the Pats), but the word in New York is that the cornerback’s stay with the Jets will be one-and-done. Don’t be surprised to see the Pats come calling after the former All-Pro in the offseason, just as they did last summer before he signed with the Jets.
Speaking on ESPN Radio yesterday, Law had nothing but good things to say about the Pats, calling Brady the best quarterback in the NFL and Belichick the coach he’d pick to win a big game. As for competing against Brady Sunday, the player with whom he had some legendary practice battles, Law said he’d “love to be picked on.
“If he does, it will be fun, because I don’t get that much action,” Law said. “There will be some opportunities for us to go at it and I’ll look forward to that as a competitor. Neither one of us wants to go out there and lose because we’re so competitive.”
Law has kept in touch with his former teammates and even travels frequently up to Foxboro to watch “Monday Night Football” with Richard Seymour. Law said he has no extra motivation to beat Belichick, as the two reconciled their differences long ago. It’s not a personal vendetta to beat Belichick or Brady — “It’s just to get a win,” Law said. “But to beat your old team, I can imagine that feels pretty good.”
Law’s surgically repaired foot still bothers him, which has been a factor in his playing overweight. All told, Law has been a disappointment to Jets coach Herm Edwards, who was hoping Law would provide shut-down ability on the field and championship-leadership off it. It turns out neither happened. As has been the case in the past, Law has been a magnet for pass interference/illegal contact penalties. He’s had nine accepted infractions this year, with another half-dozen declined. Law is due an $11 million option bonus after the year, which the Jets won’t pick up, making him a free agent.
Law said he’s aware of secondary problems on the Pats, and other teams.
“You’re not a true cornerback if you don’t have an ego,” Law said. “I do look at the Patriots and say, ‘I could have made that play,’ but I look at a lot of teams and say that, because a lot of teams passed on me.”
Look for Law and Deion Branch to see a lot of each other Sunday.

pky
i saw this. i dunno how i'd feel about law coming back. his defense prowess is really levelled off. i wouldnt say it's gone down just yet, but looking at the penalty yards he's incurred this year, it'd just be a matter of time. looking at the state of our defense, we need anyone who can play, but i wouldnt pay a premium for him. bring back duane starks baby!!!!
