"The Truth Has Set Himself Free"
Mike Gorman's ridiculous statement turned television ad still cracks me up. In any case, Pierce was a man amongst boys last night. The three pointer was cold-blooded and the buzzer beater was a terrible play but such a beautiful sight to behold. Ryan Gomes was a monster in the first half. If only he was a bit bigger, he might be the draft steal of the decade (he's already the steal of the year). Gomes is only 6'7, so when Washington realized how effective he was, they sagged down on him with their big guys and took away his offensive effectiveness. Still, he along with delonte and perk would get major minutes on any team in the NBA simply because of their hustle and ability to do the little things (rebound, defend, get loose balls). Good to see a nucleus like this in place. Give this team a full 82 games of health next year, and the playoffs are a certainty. I wish Pierce was about 3 years younger. I'd expect this team to be a powerhouse in 2 years or so."We did everything we wanted to do," Wizards forward Antawn Jamison said. "We sent him the right direction, we had two guys on him, and he hit an unbelievable shot. It was a tough shot but that's why they call him 'The Truth.' He was the truth tonight."
