- if you look at drew's numbers, they are really not bad. the only negative is his injury history. he maxes out at 140 or so games a year. he would be a solid 5th or 3rd hitter for sure. and it seems the sox are not too worried about saving money at this point, as they are going after gagne, lugo, and daisuke.

the thing im happy about in the drew deal is no prospects were traded and the sox seem to not have exhausted their money. if thats the case then im down. Drew's OPS is pretty consistently good.

i wonder, however, what the sox plan on doing with wily mo pena. he is an awesome 4th outfielder to have, but he seems to be a decent bargaining chip that should be cashed in before he gets old or perhaps exposed as not being that good if he gets playing time.
