The Big Disgrace

ep

from the daily news:
-There are no additional tests scheduled, and Giambi said the calf is "really stiff" in the area where his foot hinges up and down. He hurt himself fouling a pitch off his leg in the fourth inning Saturday and it "ballooned up" badly, he said. Giambi is in the throes of a career-worst 0-for-20 skid.

-Maybe his back remains an issue. Or maybe this is all anyone should expect from him at his age. Maybe not even Johnson can be Roger Clemens, blowing hitters away forever.

It's just that the Yankees never thought he'd become mortal so quickly. They must be shuddering at the idea of two more years at $16 million per.

Worse, with their rotation finally looking dependable, the Yankees know that a dominant Johnson might be all they need to make a run at October, and maybe another championship.

New Yorkers were ready to believe again. Then the home runs started flying against the guy who used to be the Big Unit.

NY Post:
-Big Unit? For one inning, Randy Johnson morphed into The Big Launching Pad.
