the sox starting rotation is currently in a state of disarray. sure, we've won 8 straight, but tonight we saw what happens when we play a team that can limit our run production. and when you continue to give up 4 runs in the first inning, that's a formula to lose games. forget that it worked with the royals. the royals arent even a AA team. with a real major league team, you dont win games giving up 4 runs in the first inning. and then 3 in the 4th, and so on and so forth. at the end of the trade deadline, we were so enamored and distracted with the manny thing that we neglected one of biggest concerns with starting pitching. it wouldnt be so bad if we had burnett right now.

dont take that to mean that i think the twins are a good team. but they're no AA team. and when we play teams better than the twins, forget about winning if you give up runs early on.
