Bruins about to sign Mike Modano. He's good and all, but he's not great and he's getting up there in age (35). They also signed Murray to four years and someone else. This may mark the end of Joe Thornton's tenure with the B's.

As far as the moves themselves, I like that they are trying to spend money, but at the same time I don't know how well they are spending it. The Bruins have by far the most money under the cap, and rumor has it that Forsberg and Markus Naslund are offering themselves up in a package deal. Since those two are arguably the top two players in the NHL, I would have loved the team to have gone after them.
