no surprise in konerko going back to the chisox. whatever. i'm not even sure the thome deal is that big a deal either. thome did nothing for the phillies. what'd he hit, like 8 homers? it's like they picked up renteria. at this point, i'd give him away. i couldnt pay you enough to take him away from the red sox.

that said, it's an unfortunate fact that renteria's going nowhere. especially now that we've dealt hanley ramirez. who the more i think about it, has theo's genius all over it. theo was grooming this kid to LOOK and SOUND like the future SS of the MLB. doubtful at best. prospects, like the sports guy put best, are just prospects. nothing but empty promises. hanley's numbers at AA were a solid "UNDERWHELMING." batted like .271, 6 HRs, 50 some ribeye steaks. WOW. that's a top prospect eh? there's no doubt he has potential, but until that emerges, it's just talk. 26 errors in the field. i like the 62 stolen bases, but we're not hte As here. smallball need not apply. our last good prospect who amounted to anything was nomar.

and speaking of nomar, it's time to raise the bar on renteria's ass. we should absolutely considering picking up nomar as a utility player. or at least... our everyday SS. and if that SOMEHOW doesnt work out (i personally dont see how that couldnt work out) nomar can play LF for us, after that bitch manny leaves. i want manny to stay for his production, but a bitch like that cant leave the team fast enough as far as I'm concerned. let him go. hitting was a problem in the playoffs last year, but that's like saying the ugly chick's problem is that she doesnt have a good personality. please. let's stick to the issue here. the ugly chick's main problem is that she's ugly. the red sox's main problem is the pitching. with beckett, that solves a piece of that puzzle.

I'm all for a manny for ichiro trade. STRAIGHT UP. "pundits" in boston might argue that ichiro isnt as good as you think he is, but that's fine. they're wrong. i think it was steve buckley who said ichiro's obp wasnt as good as millar's. um...ok. it's 5 pts worse. it's too bad that ichiro played 30 some more games, had 200 some more at bats, 80 some more hits, 33 more stolen bases, 50 some more runs, (2 more rbis... which is more an indicator of the lineup ichiro hits in...), and 100 pts better slugging average. oh yeah, he plays gold glove caliber defense in right field, would solve our leadoff hitter problem, and our center field problem, and would be DISGUSTINGLY NASTY IN THIS LINEUP. get off these nuts. no nuts no glory. oh wait, he's also not a bitch like millar or manny.
